HomieHyra policies

Privacy Notice

This notice explains the personal data HomieHyra uses to operate accounts, rentals, payments, delivery, identity verification, refunds and customer support.

Effective 22 July 2026 · Version 2026-07-22

1. Information we collect

  • Name, email, phone number, saved addresses and authorized-recipient details.
  • Account, authentication, booking, payment-status, refund and support records.
  • Delivery instructions, location details, condition evidence and inspection records.
  • Government ID and selfie when identity verification is required. Aadhaar is optional; use a masked copy where possible.
  • Technical records such as session identifiers, IP address, device/browser information and policy-acceptance evidence.

2. Why we use it

We use personal data to create and secure accounts, verify identity, assess rental risk, prepare and fulfil bookings, process payment and refunds, coordinate delivery and pickup, inspect returned products, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and meet legal obligations.

3. Service providers

We share only the data reasonably needed with providers supporting the service, including Razorpay or another disclosed payment processor, Firebase/Google authentication, email or WhatsApp communications, and delivery providers such as Porter or Uber. HomieHyra does not store full card details and does not sell customer contact data.

4. Identity documents

Identity verification is used for rental-risk management, not bank-style regulatory KYC. Access to raw documents is restricted. Documents are encrypted in storage and should be retained only while reasonably needed for verification, active rentals, fraud prevention, disputes or legal obligations. A rejected or completed verification may still be retained where a live dispute or legal hold applies.

5. Retention and security

Account data is retained while the account is active or until a valid deletion request is completed. Booking, payment, tax, refund, fraud and dispute records may be retained longer where operationally or legally required. We use access controls, encrypted identity files, password hashing and secure session cookies, but no online system can guarantee absolute security.

6. Your choices

You may ask to access, correct or delete eligible personal data, withdraw optional consent, or raise a privacy complaint. We may verify your identity and explain any record that must be retained. Submit a request through the contact page and include the email or phone number linked to your account.

7. Children

Products may be intended for children, but the contracting customer must be an adult. Do not upload a child's identity document. Only provide child-related information that is necessary to select and safely use a product, such as age or weight range.

8. Updates

New versions apply prospectively from their stated effective date. The policy version acknowledged for a booking is recorded with that booking where acceptance evidence is required.
